Spring Dale student wins 3 gold medals

Uday Mehtab Singh, a student of Spring Dale Senior School here, has bagged three gold medals in the Punjab School Silambam State Championship held at PBN Senior Secondary School.

He has been selected to participate in the national games to be held at Ranchi, Jharkhand, in November, on the basis of his outstanding performance in the championship. Rajiv Kumar Sharma, principalof the school, said that Uday Mehtab Singh competed with 150 students from different schools in this event.

"Silambam is a weapon-based Indian martial art from Tamil Nadu and is similar to 'gatka', the traditional martial art form, which is taught in the school," he said.
