SSP to be honoured at I-Day function

Senior superintendent of police Hardyal Singh Mann will be honoured with a medal for meritorious services during the state-level Independence Day celebrations at Ludhiana on Thursday.

The SSP, who had served in the Army as a captain, joined Punjab Police on March 5, 1991, as deputy superintendent of police, and led the team that unearthed a drug nexus in Fatehgarh Sahib, and exposed the alleged involvement of high-profile sportspersons. He also served as the SSP in Mansa, Ferozepur, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Fatehgarh Sahib districts.
