Extending invitation to people to attend the function to mark birth anniversary of party founder and former deputy prime minister Devi Lal, INLD MP from Hisar, Dushyant Chautala has said his grandfather and party supremo Om Prakash Chautala would attend the Jind rally on September 25. OP Chautala, his son Ajay Chautala and several others were convicted by a CBI court in connection with the 1999-2000 JBT recruitment scam.

Dushyant, son of Dabwali MLA Ajay Chautala, while touring Jind constituency on Friday urged electorate to participate in the programme being organised by the party.

Stating that while the final list of INLD candidates for the October 15 assembly polls would be released by September 21, he said the party rally would be an historic event in the sense that stalwarts from different corners of the country would come to pay homage to the late deputy PM.

On the candidature of senior most Chautala from Uchana, he said from the party side, OP Chautala was their first priority and they have sought permission from the court to allow him to attend the Jind rally.

He said former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav would attend the rally.

Earlier, the party leaders had also claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also invited to Devi Lal’s commemoration ceremony in Jind rally.
