In this season of many a star trek to Seats of Spirituality, the Gods must be having a tough time apportioning an audience among the crowd of celebrities knocking on their doors. Seeing the star parade making a beeline for shrines in recent Test-ing times, it would seem that divine intervention is the only option left to exercise for stars having an impending imprisonment complaint or those troubled by taint. And the postures of piety 'n' prayer that celebrity consciences have been espousing in these trying times span a spectrum of spiritually correct conduct and how!

Sree bats for spirituality

There are celebrities who first display a decided proclivity for courting controversy, be it through tweets or towels, and then they exhibit an earth-shaking urgency for enlisting divine services to undo what no amount of fat fees to lawyers could do and seek celestial cooperation to wash away the sins which even the brightest of legal brains could not whitewash.

S Sreesanth, the South pacer who has exhibited an established knack for how he does Controversy catch, if not through his tweets on the social media then through towels in the stadia, is one celebrity who has of late been trying to get chaste in a haste.

And after a period of imprisoned disgrace, what better for this player with pace than to religious destinations grace!

So, subsequent to his stint behind bars, the released Sreesanth, with family in tow, has been flocking to famous destinations of Faith: the Thrippunithura temple and that sacred abode of Lord Ayyappa, the Sabarimala shrine.

His rounds of many a religious "spot" are expected to be followed shortly by a sojourn to another seat of spirituality, Sri Krishna Temple in Guruvayur. Mercifully, the Guruvayur trip will have more to do with wed-lock than with the lock-up.

For, the cricketer is all set not just to chasten but also hasten, his date with Cupid. Since his Lady Love, hailing from the royalty of Jaipur, has supposedly stood by the spot-fixing-scarred Sree through thick and thin, his family does "knot" wish to delay any longer his legally getting his "Maiden over".

This script of spirituality sure has shades of: Tweet Pray Love!

Date with divinity

Seeking of divine supplication in some cases of spiritually inclined star-hood may be driven more by having to hearth 'n' home comforts surrender than by towel taints throwing careers asunder.

As the hour of Sanjay Dutt's surrender had drawn nearer recently, it had seen the star undertaking sojourns to shrines galore. From turning to the seers of Ajmer Sharif dargah to heading to the Devi Peeth temple in Madhya Pradesh, Sanju left no spiritual stone unturned.

Whether it was a private aircraft aiding his crisis-driven sojourns of spirituality to shrines afar or it was family facilitating trips to temples around town, Sanjay's refuge in religiosity on the eve of his surrender may have had more to do with ensuring divine protection of his kith and kin than with atonement of sin.

It is another matter that one of the perks of propitiating the powers above for the well-being of his home may have seen him being granted some comforts of home away from home. Like home-made food, home mattress and such domestic stuff that could make his stay behind bars more befitting of stars.

Sanju's starry date with divinity seemed more like an "Om Shanti Om" remix: Home Shanti Home!

Shilpa's best bet

What better bet than divine intervention for celebrities caught in the betting net! So, it was but a matter of time that the parade of stars on pilgrimages of piety should have seen the betting-beleaguered Raj Kundra and wife Shilpa Shetty come knocking at the door where many a prayer is believed to be answered: Siddhivinayak temple.

This shrine that had only recently seen other famous faces too Deepika Padukone, who came to seek the success of new flick "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", and Aishwarya, who prayed there with much elan in the company of the entire Bachchan clan surely seemed the best bet for Shilpa, who has seen not only her T20 team giving cause to controversy arouse but also her spouse.

Seeing that Kundra has got only more beleaguered in the matter of bookies regardless of these rounds of religiosity, it is not certain if the Gods "catch" every prayer delivered in this spirituality "match".

Nevertheless, in enlisting divine support, Shilpa & Co may just only be ensuring that it's bet-ter late than never.

In doing so, the cricket team couple has delivered a sure-shot script for a sequel: Satte Pray Satta!
