Himachal Pradesh's Revenue Court Monitoring System (RCMS) software of has received the CSI Nihilent e-Governance "award of recognition" for 2013-14. The award was presented to state IT director Priyanka Basu Ingty and IT joint director Rajeev Sharma on behalf of the state government during the 49th annual convention of the Computer Society of India in Hyderabad. received the prestigious award on behalf of the Himachal government.
RCMS, which was developed inhouse by the state IT department, is a workflow based software to automate the functioning of revenue courts. It provides online information to the public in their revenue related cases. Citizens can view the status of their cases, cause list online. The case status can be viewed and court judgments downloaded through the RCMS portal http://hp.gov.in/rcms.
The RCMS online facility has resulted in reducing pendency of court cases by ten to 15 years on an average. The faster disposal of cases has now begun benefitting state residents.
The award was judged on the criticality of IT usage, improvement in service, impact on quality and productivity, impact on society and innovation in terms of reach and replicability, tangible impact on efficiency, operational costs and providing services to citizens at their doorstep.
