State-level R-Day function to be held in Amritsar

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal will unfurl the national flag on Republic Day in a state-level function at Amritsar.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal will unfurl the national flag on Republic Day in a state-level function at Amritsar.

While deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal will hoist the Tricolour at Bathinda, assembly speaker Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal and deputy speaker Dinesh Singh will do the honours at Ludhiana and Dhar Kalan, respectively.

A state government spokesman said cabinet minister Chunni Lal Bhagat will preside over the R-Day function in Jalandhar, Ajit Singh Kohar at Kapurthala, Gulzar Sigh Ranike at Gurdaspur, Madan Mohan Mittal at Ropar, Janmeja Singh Sekhon at Ferozepur, Surjit Kumar Jiyani at Hoshiarpur, Bikram Singh Majithia at SAS Nagar, Sikander Singh Maluka at Muktsar, Anil Joshi at Pathankot, Surjit Singh Rakhra at Patiala, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon at Moga, Jathedar Tota Singh at Sangrur, Daljit Singh Cheema at Fatehgarh Sahib and Sohan Singh Thandal at Nawan Shahar.

Chief parliamentary secretary Chaudhary Nand Lal will preside over the function at Gharshankar, Sant Balbir Singh Ghuns at Barnala, Desh Raj Dhugga at Sri Hargobindpur, Harmeet Singh Sandhu at Tarn Taran, Mantar Singh Brar at Faridkot, Mohinder Kaur Josh at Phagwara, KD Bhandari at Dasua, Inderbir Singh Bolaria at Sultanpur Lodhi, Amarpal Singh Boni at Ajnala, Gurbachan Singh Babehali at Batala, Virsa Singh Valtoha at Nakodar, NK Sharma at Dera Bassi, F. Nisara Khatoon at Malerkotla, Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu at Baba Bakala, Parkash Chand Garg at Mansa, Sarup Chand Singla at Fazilka, Som Parkash at Mukerian and Pawan Kumar Tinu at Khanna.
