Barely two days after the ruling Congress made populist announcements for public, the All Haryana Roadways Workers Joint Action Committee (AHRWJA) has announced to observe a 'chakka jam' on November 13 and 14 in the state.
The protesters in a release said that they would not allow any state roadways bus (around 3,500 in number) to ply on roads on these two days.
AHJWJA state president Dalbir Kirmara said that they were protesting against the state government decision to sanction 3,519 bus permits to private players.
Second, there is a strong resentment among the employees against the state government backtracking on their promise by not regularising the temporary employees in the department, he said.
Third, the demand for giving salaries to the roadways employees on par with Punjab state was also pending for a long time, Kirmara added.
He said that no bus on short or long or outstations route would ply on roads and the roadways employees' did not take the buses on outstations routes on Tuesday evening onwards.
