A car being stolen twice within less than six weeks may sound like black comedy to some, but, for Sector-33 resident Rachit Malhotra, it's certainly no laughing matter that his Honda City sedan has vanished, again.
Malhotra, 29, remains worried as the last time, too, it wasn't that police who had helped him trace the car, but Facebook. In the first instance, Rachit's car was stolen on December 11 from outside his house where he parked it every day. He uploaded the details on Facebook, and the car was the recovered same evening as Malhotra's friend sighted the vehicle abandoned outside a bus stop next to Tribune Chowk.
On Tuesday morning, Malhotra woke up to be told that the car was missing again from outside his house. The police have registered a case and efforts are on to track the vehicle. Malhotra said, "I had come back home after watching a movie around 2.30 in the night in my Honda City (CH-O3-L4303), and my father noticed the car missing in the morning around 7am. Malhotra, who runs a salon in Sector 44, said he had now decided to put gear locks on his cars, "I have two other cars and now I have decided to put gear locks on them, besides CCTV cameras outside our house."
Malhotra has uploaded the details of the theft on Facebook again and has his fingers crossed, again.
