Students advised avoid playing games on mobile phone, watching cartoon

Beant College of Engineering and Technology principal Ravi Kumar has advised students not to play games on mobiles and watch cartoon programmes on the television for it would create in them a sense of loneliness, which might be harmful for their future career.

He was addressing the students on ‘Aarohan Diwas’ (installation ceremony of new students’ leader) at Gurdaspur Public School (GPS).

He said they should play games with their friends in the play ground every evening, which would give them more joy and inculcate in them good habits.

He asked them to take to reading literary books from the beginning of their student career, which would teach them lessons on life, besides enriching their knowledge.

He also advised them to avoid taking tuitions and devote more time on self study by making a time table for their day.

He suggested them to learn and practice good things of our rich culture, besides learning their chosen subjects.

He told them that good things of discipline and general behaviour with others learnt as small kids would go a long way in making their future career, and wished them success in their lives.

Meanwhile, he installed Class 10 students Raj Kamal and Raghav Mahajan as head girl and head boy of the school, respectively.

Raghav Mahajan and Amisha Attari of Amaratya Sen House, Sahilpreet Singh and Bhumika Sharma of the CV Raman House, Simarpreet Singh and Komalpreet Kaur of the JC Bose House and Sarharijot Singh and Harleen Kaur of Mother Teressa were also installed as captains and vice-captains, respectively. Garima Saini was installed as prefect.

Principal Archana Bahl and chairman Raman Bahl also spoke on the achievements of the school, besides wishing the students brilliant future.
