Paying heed to the long-pending demand by students, Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) has finally started beatification and renovation works of the students' home and the student center here.
The move to renovate the students' home came after repeated requests made by the Punjab Agricultural University Students Association (PAUSA) and many other students' delegation, who had written several times to the authorities concerned to get the existing infrastructure repaired and to add new things to the students home area.
“It was a long-pending demand of the student. Before starting the work, we asked for suggestions from the post graduate students and the PAUSA about what changes could be made into the existing infrastructure,” said Balwinder Singh, director of students' welfare.
Under the renovation work café will be surrounded by grills, students home will be repaired and four new washrooms will be added to it.
The proposals of the PAU authorities include landscaping of surrounding of cafeteria, addition of dustbins and plantation of new variety of flowers on the campus.
Welcoming the move, former PAUSA president Parminder Gujjaar urged the authorities to add more food joints at the student home, and maintain the cleanliness conditions once it was restructured.
