Leading the International Yoga day program at Shimla, union human resource development (HRD) minister Smriti Irani desired every student to adopt holistic science for healthy living.

Leading the International Yoga day program at Shimla, union human resource development (HRD) minister Smriti Irani desired every student to adopt holistic science for healthy living.

“We want every student to understand Holistic science for healthy living. There are several institutes providing Yoga education through its instructors. I appreciate their efforts,” she said, while talking to media. People started gathering at Chaura Maidan at 6 in the morning while Irani arrived at 6:45am. After lighting the lamp, she congratulated people on international yoga day. She said it was a big honor for the country that 177 counties are marking the International Yoga day.

After spending merely five minutes with people doing Yoga, Irani reached on the stage and started clicking photographs. On being asked about Yoga to be included in school curriculum, she said education is a subject of concurrent list and centre as well as state has to coordinate on such issues. “It is result of coordination between state and centre that several school children are performing Yoga here,” she said.

Replying to the question of politics over Yoga day, she said it was day of great honor for India. “On the appeal of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 177 countries are marking the Yoga day,” she added.

After attending program at Chaura Maidan, Irani attended the Yoga day program at historic Ridge organized by Art of Living.
