City-based NGO Sambhav Foundation in association with training and development organisation Vmad organised a human chain event at various city chowks on Wednesday. The event was organised ahead of the plantation drive during which one lakh trees will be planted within one hour on July 20.

Around 200 students of various schools and volunteers of Vmad and the NGO participated in the event.

Students stood on roadsides and chowks holding slogans and banners in their hands to invite people for the event. Vmad director Baljeet Kaur said, “The objective of this human chain was to motivate the common citizen of Ludhiana to come forward and participate in the event on July 20. We want that the residents should come together on streets from 8-9 am on that day, so that this drive can become a success.”

She said they were getting wonderful support from schools as well as the Ludhiana traffic police.
