Sacked Punjab convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sucha Singh Chhotepur has accused Delhi chief minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal of demeaning party principles in Punjab.
Chhotepur was here for a rally as part of his ‘parivartan yatra’ where he got handsome support from volunteers.
However, Chhotepur praised opposition parties and their leaders for supporting him in his hour of crisis after he was accused of taking Rs 2 lakh for allotment of a party ticket.
Chhotepur said after the alleged sex scandal of a Delhi minister, the same type of scandals involving AAP’s non-Punjabi leaders, working in Punjab, would surface in coming days.
“I have seen photographs of the women involved in the Delhi sex scandal videos, with 3-4 other AAP leaders, who have taken the party for granted in Punjab,” Chhotepur alleged. Chhotepur had got maximum support from Bathinda after he was removed from the top post in the state. Following his expulsion, two of the main office-bearers of Bathinda’s AAP unit — Narinderpal Bhagta, Bathinda zonal coordinator and Harmilap Singh Grewal, RTI wing state general secretary, resigned from their respective posts.
“Kejriwal dug a grave for me, but it was the people and opposition parties, which rescued him and gave him a new political birth. AAP and Kejriwal had left no stone unturned to end my political career for his vested interests,” Chhotepur said.
He added that the AAP has lost its base in Punjab and the disgruntled workers and volunteers of the party would teach it a lesson in the coming assembly elections.
“The AAP claimed to win 100 seats in Punjab, but going by the present crisis in the party, it would not even win 40 seats,” the former convener said.
Chhotepur said, “Kejriwal has shattered dreams of Punjabis, who were seeing the AAP as an alternative. Both Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak and other coordinators are his sycophants, who speak Kejriwal’s language only”. He claimed Kejriwal had no conscience and was desperate to become the CM of Punjab and thought me a roadblock in realising his dream.
Kejriwal works like a dictator: Chhotepur
Sunam (Sangrur): Sacked Punjab convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sucha Singh Chhotepur said here on Tuesday that it seemed that the party chief and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, who works as a dictator, would suspend everyone and would like to remain a lone leader in the party.
Chhotepur was in the town as part of his ongoing Parivartan Yatra, which will be over on September 16.
