Suicide in Bathinda police station: Victim’s kin demand CBI probe

The parents of the woman who had allegedly committed suicide in Balianwali police station submitted a memorandum to the administration on Tuesday demanding an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into death of woman.

Jasvir Kaur, a resident of Dadu village, had allegedly committed suicide in the washroom of Balianwali police station on May 21.

As per the police, the deceased had come to the police station along with the panchayat of Kotra Kauran Wala village to register a missing person’s report on May 20.

In a written memorandum, Sukhpal Singh, the woman’s father alleged that his daughter died due to police torture in Balianwali police station but the police presented it as a suicide case.

Demanding a CBI inquiry, the father said action must be taken against the cops responsible for the death of his daughter.
