Three close aides of deceased gangster, Sukha Kahlwan, including a minor were arrested by the criminal investigation authority (CIA) staff on Tuesday from undisclosed locations. The arrested were in possession of illegal weapons.
The accused have been identified as Pancham Noor Singh, a resident of Phagwara Gate locality in city, Sahil Preet Singh of Hansawala village the minor being from Phagwara in Kapurthala district.
The police have recovered two .315 bore pistols, two 7.65 bore pistols, 9mm pistol, 10 live cartridges, a Safari car (PB54-C-0044), a Wagon R car (PB08-AN-5677) and a Yamaha motorbike (PB09-U-2244) from them.

The arrested revealed that they had planned an escape for Sukha when he was being transported to Nabha Jail after a hearing in a murder case registered against him on January 21. Sukha was shot dead by a rival gang in Phagwara before his aides could execute the plan.
Eight of Sukha's aides then planned to avenge of his killing by targeting members of the rival gang.
Five of them were keeping a vigil on the developments in Sukha's case and two went to Merrut to purchase weapons from Ashish, an acquaintance of Sukha.
The amount paid by them for the weapons has not been revealed by police, which claimed that it would soon arrest Ashish and three other members of Sukha's gang.
Two of Sukha's aides Rajinder Pal Singh and Rajwinder have already been arrested by rural police on February 9.
However, the police have yet to get a lead on gangsters -- Jaipal, Harjinder Singh, alias Gonder, Prema Lahoria and others -- who were behind Sukha's murder.
