SAD president and deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, on Wednesday, presided over a meeting of party leaders, including sitting MLAs, ex-MLAs and other rank and file at Guruharsahai, a subdivision of Ferozepur district, to give a momentum to the election campaign of the SAD-BJP's MP nominee Sher Singh Gubhaya.

It is worth mentioning here that differences between Gubhaya and Verdev Singh Mann, halqa in-charge of Guruharsahai (who was party contender for the MP seat this time) are an open secret and Wednesday meting was seen as a measure by Sukhbir to iron out their differences and ensure the victory of the party candidate.

Sukhbir exhorted party leaders as well as workers to do their best to ensure the victory of SAD-BJP nominees so that Narendra Modi was made the prime minister so that sufficient funds are managed for the development of state, which had been given step-motherly treatment by the Congress- led UPA government during the two consecutive regimes.

He said if NDA came to power at the Centre, Punjab would be the most developed state within next two years and special facilities would be provided to border areas of the state which had been badly ignored by the Congress, which has ruled the nation for the maximum time since Independence.
Meanwhile, Verdev Singh Mann said that he would abide by the party's decision and ensure the victory of Gubhaya.

"The SAD-BJP rank and file will come out to support him as he had given equal distribution of MPLAD funds in proportion to each assembly segment, besides working for various development works of the Ferozepur parliamentary seat," Gubhaya said.

Joginder Singh, Gurtej Singh Ghudiana, Harpreet Singh trio MLAs, SAD(B) leaders Rohit alias Montu Vohra and Kaish Mann were present on the occasion.
