Surprise check in govt schools finds 7 teachers arriving late, one absent

To check the standard of education in the government schools, two inspection teams of the education department for med by district education officer, secondary, Charanjit Singh, inspected 38 government schools on Thursday.

During the inspections, seven teachers were found reaching late to their respective schools; one teacher absent; and five others absent for a long time.

The inspections were carried out after the directions from the director general of school education (DGSE) office.

District education of ficer, secondary, Charanjit Singh, who inspected four government schools-Gover nment Primary School, Ramgarh, Government Middle School, Ramgarh, Government High School, Rajwal, and Government Senior Secondary School, Lalhari, said that two teachers were found reaching the school late while a teacher was absent from the duty at Gover nment Primary School, Ramgarh.

Gurjot Singh, de puty district education officer, secondary, who visited Gover nment Senior Secondary School, Pamal; Government Senior Secondary School, Hassanpur; Government High School, Kohad; Government High School, Dewatwal; and Gover nment Senior Secondary School, the Jagraon Bridge, said that four teachers were absent from the schools duty at Gover nment Senior Secondary School, Pamal, while one at Government Senior Secondary School, Hassanpur.

Another team comprising Jasbir Singh, district coordinator, found five teachers re por ting late—three at Gover nment Primary School and Government High School, Lohara, one at Gover nment Primary School, Harnampura, and one at Gover nment High School, Harnampura.

Charanjit Singh said, “We will soon send the report to the DGSE office and the inspections would continue in the coming days. The idea is to improve the standard of education in the gover nment schools.” He also added that teachers found reaching late, absent or who had gone on long leave would not be spared. Ram Bhushan, district education officer, elementary, said, “Out of total 11 gover nment schools I inspected, just one teacher at Gover nment Primary School, Saiyian, was on a long leave.”
