SUV-borne miscreants hit bullet in man’s leg, flee with his car

Four SUV-borne miscreants abducted a businessman and looted his car and cash at gunpoint in Model Town on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

The accused hit bullet in businessman Hardeep Singh’s leg and threw him near Jugiana village on GT road.
The victim, Hardeep Singh, a resident of Dugri and owner of Nirmal Motors at Samrala Chowk, lodged a case at Model Town police station on Friday evening.

In his complaint, Singh said he had gone to Model Town in his Maruti Swift car to drop his friend. When he was returning back a Toyota Innova car intercepted him near Dugri bridge, he added.

He alleged that two out of four accused alighted from the SUV and flashed a gun at him.
The miscreants pushed him inside the car and grabbed the steering of his car and hit a bullet in his left leg and threatened him to keep mum, he added.

The miscreants then ferried him to Jugiana and threw him out of the car and fled. The complainant, somehow, informed his family members, who rushed him to SPS Apollo hospital. The condition of victim is stated to be stable.

Inspector Gurdev Singh, station house (SHO) at Model Town police station said, “The police have registered a case under 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder), 392 (robbery), 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the unidentified accused.”

“The police have been investigating the matter and would arrest the accused soon. The victim is undergoing treatment at a private hospital,” The station house officer said.
