Four men with their faces covered snatched the SUV from the owner’s driver in New Jawahar Nagar locality.

Four men snatched a Mahindra XUV at knifepoint from the New Jawahar Nagar locality on Friday evening.

The black SUV (PB08-CB-0072) belongs to Vikas Sharma, a resident of Uchha Surajganj, who owns a washing powder agency in the grain market.

The driver, Vijay, a resident of Bhargo Camp, said he came to the locality to drop Vikas’s daughter Shipra at a coaching institute. When he was waiting for her outside the coaching centre, four men with their faces covered approached him for directions to Adarsh Nagar. He said while he was telling them the route, one of the men took out a sharp-edged weapon and pulled him out of the SUV, before fleeing with the vehicle.

After getting the information, the cops from Model Town police station arrived there and recorded Vijay’s statement. They also checked the CCTV footage of the some cameras installed in the area.
