Raising their voice against the propsed privatisation of suvidha centres, the employees of these centres observed a strike for three hours here on Monday.
All the 77 employees working at the Suvidha Centre in the mini secretariat building here have decided to observe a strike daily from 2pm to 5pm.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Bavaljeet Singh, district president of the Suvidha Centres Employees Union, said, "This was the first day of the protest and the protest will continue (from 2pm to 5pm) on Tuesday also."
"The government was mulling privatisation of all the 160 suvidha centres of the state. If the decision is taken, 1,100 employees will have to work under the private company, which is injustice with us", he added.
