‘Sweet’ exchange: Badal reciprocates Amarinder’s gesture, sends sweets

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday greeted former chief minister and newly-appointed PPCC president Capt Amarinder Singh on his coronation which will be taking place on Badals’ turf at Bathinda.

Extending good wishes, Badal sent a bouquet of flowers, a fruit basket and five boxes of sweets to Amarinder Singh. Badal also greeted Patiala MLA Parneet Kaur and family.

The ‘sweet’ exchange began when Capt Amarinder Singh announced that when Parkash Singh Badal will arrive in Patiala for the Sadbhawna rally, he will get an unexpected gift - shahi ladoos and specially-plucked flowers from Amarinder’s royal estate orchard.

Amarinder had even deputed his former aide MP Singh to hand over the gifts to Badal at 11 am. In fact, Amarinder’s office had formally sent a missive to the principal secretary to the CM, asking him to ensure that Singh gets access to the CM to hand over the gifts.
