Punjab revenue and information and public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia deeply mourned the demise of veteran Akali stalwart jathedar Jagdev Singh Talwandi at Talwandi Rai village, Ludhiana, on Monday. Jathedar Talwandi had passed away following brief illness at Hero DMC Heart Institute on September 19.
Majithia called on the bereaved family here at their residence and shared his sympathies with them. He said it was a huge loss for the entire family, especially the Shiromani Akali Dal and entire Sikh Panth.
Majithia shared his life experiences with jathedar Jagdev Singh Talwandi's wife Mahinder Kaur and sons Ranjit Singh Talwandi (former-MLA) and Jagjit Singh Talwandi (SGPC member) and other family members. Majithia became emotional as he saw old pictures of Talwandi spanning from his initial forays in SGPC, Akali Dharam Yudhs and Akali politics, and said he was an institution in himself.
Majithia prayed to the almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and give strength to them to bear this huge loss in this hour of crisis.
