More than 100 members of the Special Teachers Trainer Union protested against the Punjab government on the eve of Teachers' Day in Bathinda on Wednesday, demanding the withdrawal of alleged fake cases registered against them by Bathinda police.

Many members of the union have been booked by the local police to curb their protest. The union has threatened to intensify their stir against the government, if it failed to heed to the union's demands.

Union president Devinder Singh said, "A delegation of the teachers will meet the CM on September 9. We will bring all our problems to the notice of the CM. We hope for a solution."
