Different teachers unions of Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib have decided to stage a protest against the Punjab government on April 14 for not fulfilling their long- pending demands.

Hardeep Toderpur, employees' leader said that employees will jointly organize a protest march against the government for not regularizing jobs of the teachers working under the Sarv Sikhya Abhiyan, RMSA, computer teacher and for not giving regular scale to clerical staff working under different centre sponsored schemes.

Asha workers, mid-day meal workers, workers of the forest department and other workers who have been facing exploitation at the hands of government will join the protest.

Employee unions said that all the candidates who were contesting in the Lok Sabha election should clarify their policies about contractual employees.

The employees alleged that the state government had failed to release their pending arrears and other payments despite repeated representations.
