Technical problems, staff shortage leave visitors to mini-secretariat suvidha centre harassed

Visitors coming to the Suvidha Centre at the mini-secretariat have many reasons to blame the authorities for, as they are a harried lot due to lack of facilities at the centre.

Visitors have to wait for a long time in queues due to shortage of staff in the centre. Many times people have to wait a lot as internet server problem is very frequent at the centre.

On rainy days, water stagnates on the road outside the centre, thus creating problem in crossing the area.

Agents at suvidha centre are another major reason due to which visitors have to face several problems in dealing directly with the officials present at the centre to get their work done.

These agents take extra charges from people for doing their work. One of the visitors told that one agent came to him and told that the work would be done in a easy manner and in lesser time, but this will cost him more than the regular charges.

When HT team visited the Suvidha Centre, several agents were spotted asking visitors to get their work. Moreover, as no help desk has been set up at the centre, people end up getting their work done from agents by paying hefty amounts.

Ramesh Srisvastav, president of the Samaj Sewa Society, said, "Agents are roaming freely in the centre, authorities should keep a check on them, so that residents do not have to suffer."

Vinod Kumar city resident said, "Many people have not received their driving licences even after completing the whole process in December. This all is happening due to carelessness of the authorities. These problems are going right under the nose of district administration."

Due to absence of help desk at the centre, people are a harried lot as they cannot find the place where they have to go for completion of the process of a particular thing. Authorities should set up a helpdesk for convenience of visitors.

Due to problem in the internet at the centre, visitors have to wait in queues or have to go back without getting their work done many times. This is sheer harassment of public, and the department should take note of this problem.

There is no cooperation from Suvidha Centre employees, as no guides the visitors properly due to which they end up getting their work done with help of agents. Moreover, employees are aware about the agents, but they don't help us.
