A 55-year-old man suffered a cardiac arrest after coming to know that the police arrested his son.

Ashu, daughter of the deceased, Narayan, claimed that her brother, Atul, 18, was nabbed by the Sherpur police, following which her father went to the police post, and suffered a heart attack there.

She alleged that the police arrested her brother without any offence and even demanded hefty amount from her father for releasing him.

However, police failed to give details on why the teenager was apprehended.

Later, high drama was witnessed at the civil hospital when the body was handed over to the family. Senior police officials reached the spot and stated that action would be taken in case the cops were found guilty.

Additional deputy commissioner of police Kehar Singh said the matter would be investigated and action would be taken against the accused.
