Tension continued on the third consecutive day on Saturday at chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar's native village of Baniyani where a clash took place between the members of an upper caste and Dalit community on Thursday.

Heavy police deployment has been made in the village to deal with any untoward incident.

Rohtak deputy commissioner DK Bahara had called members of both the communities to resolve the dispute, which broke out after alleged molestation of a minor girl of upper caste by a Dalit youth.

However, the members of the Dalit community did not reach the DC office for a discussion.

The members of the upper caste met the deputy commissioner and sought support from the district administration to resolve out the dispute, which had left five people, including two women, injured.

A total of 13 people from both the communities have been booked so far.

As the members of the Dalit community did not reach the deputy commissioner's office after a wait of four hours, the DC asked them to sort out the issue in the next four days.
