High drama was witnessed in the Kesar Gunj branch of Central Bank of India when an elderly dhaba owner accused the bank officers of negligence.

He said due to the negligence of bank officials, currency notes worth Rs 10 lakh were spoiled in the bank locker.

Later, the bank officials received his complaint and assured him that they would pursue the matter with higher authorities.

The dhaba owner said he would a file complaint against the bank officials.

Jaspal Singh, owner of Shekhupuria Dhaba, said he possessed a locker in the bank. Over a year ago, he had kept Rs 10 lakh in the locker. When he opened the locker on Tuesday he was shocked to see the soiled currency notes, which were being eaten by termites. He immediately complained about the mishandling of lockers to the bank officials.

He further alleged that the bank officials were not ready to listen his complaint. Later, he called his kin there and then the bank officials accepted his complaint.
