The National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS), Patiala, organised a 3-day theatre festival as a part of their winter campaign at the Government Model Senior Secondary School here. It concluded on Saturday.

The festival organised by duo Pran Sabharwal-Sunita Sabharwal, staged plays focusing on rights of women and children. 'So Kiyon Manda Akhiye' was based on foeticide, and Ajmer Aulakh's 'Sukki Kukh' depicted the theme of domestic violence. Harsaran Singh's 'Ik Bechari Maa - Sarhaddon Paar' and 'Saian Kite Vadhaian Kite' were also staged, apart from musicals and folk dances.

Retired divisional commissioner of Patiala SK Ahluwalia was the chief guest at the event. Dr Gurpreet Singh of Patiala Surgical Centre and school principal Kiranjit Kaur inaugurated the festival by paying floral tributes to Lord Shiva.
