Thieves pose as police and steal 1.63 crores in Ludhiana

Six miscreants wearing police uniforms hijacked a cash-laden van with four employees of Syndicate Bank along with a cash van in Jagraon, Ludhiana on Monday morning at gun point.

Six miscreants wearing police uniforms hijacked a cash-laden van with four employees of Axis Bank along with a cash van in Jagraon, Ludhiana on Monday morning at gun point.

The culprits drove the vehicle which was carrying Rs 1.63 crore in cash while moving from Ludhiana towards Moga. They parked the vehicle at an isolated place two kilometres away, after which, they loaded the cash into their vehicle. They left the employees of the bank with the empty van carrying the cash and fled from the spot.

After being informed, the Ludhiana rural police initiated the investigation.

After the incident, high alert has been imposed in Ludhiana rural, Ludhiana, Moga and surrounding areas.

According to bank employees the miscreants posing as police officials stopped the vehicle near village Khidi majra after installing barricades on the road.
