The police have booked three people for allegedly raping an 18-year-old girl, a resident of Gopala village, on Tuesday night at Dial Rajputan village, 10km from here.
The accused, Surinder Singh, alias Chhindu, of Dial Rajputan village and his two associates, scaled the boundary wall of the victim’s house and abducted her when she woke up to answer the nature’s call around 11.30 pm, said sub-inspector Rabinder Singh, who is investigating the case.
He said the accused gagged the victim and took her to a secluded place near Dial Rajputan village in a vehicle where they allegedly raped her.
The victim’s parents found her missing and started searching for her. As they suspected Surinder, they called him on his mobile phone. The accused confessed to his crime on the phone and threatened victim’s parents with dire consequences.
The accused later dumped the victim on a bridge near Gopala village from where her parents took her home.
A case under Sections 376-D, 120-B/34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused at the sadar police station.
