The three-day annual Urs at Roza Sahrif in Sirhind will be celebrated from December 20 to 22. The Urs is celebrated in the memory of great Sufi saint Sheikh Ahmad Farooqui Sirhindi.
Thousands of Muslims of the Naqushbandi order from different parts of the country and Pakistan and other countries come to pay their homage at the holy place. Apart from Muslims, Hindu and Sikh devotees also visit Roza Sharif to pay their respects.
Even after the conclusion of the Urs, devotees continue to visit Roza Sharif for some more days. At a meeting held at the Bachat Bhawan, deputy commissioner, Arun Sekhri, asked various district officials to make all the arrangements in time.
