Three held from Bengaluru for duping 2 city men of Rs 1.35 cr

Ludhiana police arrested three men from Bengaluru for duping two Ludhiana men of Rs 1.35 crore on pretext of getting them LPG gas agency. The police have produced them before the court on Thursday.

The court has remanded the accused for seven days in police custody. The accused have been identified as Anna Durai of the Bhadarwati area of Samega of Karnataka, his son A Parthvin and their accomplice Nagraj. A police party was dispatched to Bengaluru for their arrest on February 24 from Ludhiana.

In their complaint, Raman Attri and Rakesh Kumar of the Model Town area had alleged that they had come in contact with Anna Durai, A Parthvin and Nagraj through Pandey and Rajesh Sharma of Amritsar. The accused had lured him with their political connections and told him that they could help him in getting a gas agency. The accused had demanded Rs 1.35 crore for the same.

After duping money from them, the accused neither helped him get the agency, nor did they return his money.

The police had registered a case in this regard at Model Town police station on February 15. The case was registered against the trio under Sections 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

SHO at the Model Town police station Inspector Inderjeet Singh said the police have been questioning them.
