Three held in Mohali village for firing at Sec-26 gym trainer

The crime investigating agency (CIA) on Monday arrested three from Majri village here in connection with the firing incident on July 5 at Flexity Gym in Sector 26, Chandigarh.

Gagandeep Singh alias Gagan (22), resident of Nayagoan, Manish Kumar alias Manni (23), resident of Teur village in Kharar and Gurpreet Singh alias Guggi (23), resident of Moga were held.

Akhil, gym trainer cum bouncer, along with Amit Sharma, head of trainers, had verbally abused Manish, who was a bouncer at the gym. Nursing a grudge against him, he fired at Akhil on July 5. Gagandeep and Gurpreet were also involved in the incident,” said Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), SAS Nagar.

Police have recovered a Lancer car and two country made .32 bore pistols with 4 live cartridges. “Manish, along with his friends Gagandeep and Gurpreet had fired at Akhil with an intention to kill, but he survived the attack,” added Bhullar.

CIA police party was patrolling near Swaraj factory in Majri when they received information about the accused driving in Lancer car, along with weapons, were going towards Ropar.

“Manish had fired. Gagan has studied till BA second year and Gurpreet is pursuing electrical diploma,” added SSP.
