Three killed in road mishap on Moga-Jalandhar national highway

Three people were killed in a road accident on the Moga-Jalandhar national highway near Kamaal Ke village under Dharamkot subdivision, 19 km from here on Saturday.

Three people were killed in a road accident on the Moga-Jalandhar national highway near Kamaal Ke village under Dharamkot subdivision, 19 km from here on Saturday.

Police officials said that the deceased have been identified as Manpreet Singh, 22; Sonu Singh, 20 and Jai Ram, 19, all residents of Thoothgarh village in the district.

Rachhpal Singh, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Dharamkot police station, said that the three met with an accident when the motorcycle they were riding was hit by an unidentified heavy vehicle coming from the opposite side near Kamaal Ke village.

"As a result, Manpreet Singh died on the spot and the seriously injured Sonu and Jai Ram, who were taken to the Dr Mathura Dass Pahwa civil hospital by the passers-by, died after two hours," said the ASI.
