Three men lose their lives in three separate road mishaps in Ludhiana

Three men lost their lives in three road mishaps on Saturday and Sunday. The police have initiated investigation after registering cases.

Three men lost their lives in three road mishaps on Saturday and Sunday. The police have initiated investigation after registering cases.

The division number 4 police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence against unidentified driver of vehicle following a statement of head constable Karamjit Singh of the division number 4 police station.

In his complaint, the cop told that he was on patrolling duty on Saturday. When he reached near Dandi Swami Chowk, he witnessed a body of an unidentified man, aged about 55 years, lying on the road. Karamjit said unidentified vehicle had hit the man to death.

In another case, a driver of Punbus had hit a 75-year-old to death near Jawahar Nagar camp on Saturday and fled from the spot. The division number 5 police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence and reckless driving against unidentified driver of the bus, following statement of Shakuntla Rani, a resident of Shivpuri of Salem Tabri.

Shakuntla said she had come to Jawahar Nagar camp with her husband Vishnu Datt Sharma. A bus had hit her husband, following which he suffered severe injuries. She with the help of others rushed him to hospital, but he died on the way.

On Sunday, an unidentified vehicle had hit a cyclist to death near Transport Nagar. The deceased has been identified as Krishan Singh, 60, of Dashmesh Nagar, Gill Road. The division number 7 police station have registered a case of reckless driving and causing death due to negligence against unidentified driver, following statement of son of the deceased.

Sarbjit Singh, the son of the deceased, said that his father was passing near Transport Nagar on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, an unidentified vehicle had hit him to death.
