Three robbers arrested with pistol, motorcycle

Police have arrested three persons and recovered an illegal pistol, a live cartridge and a stolen motorcycle from their possession.

Bathinda SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said Shambhu, Mangal and Kalu, all residents of Teacher Colony here, were arrested by a police party while they were going to commit theft in the city on a motorcycle.

He said police had information that their gang, including three more members, Ratan Lal, Rawat and Kamal, was involved in incidents of snatching and theft in the city.

Police had put a check post on Bahid national colony road near the canal and the accused were nabbed with a 12 bore pistol, a stolen motorcycle, laptop and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) television.

Bhullar said accused Shambhu and Mangal were already facing as many as 11 cases of theft and snatching each, while the third accused Kalu was also booked in a case earlier. Police are now searching for the absconding gang members.
