As many as three people have been reported to be suffering from swine flu at Abohar, a subdivision of Fazilka district.

As per information, Subhash, a resident of South Avenue, Sangeeta of the Circular Road and Gaurav Juneja of Nai Abadi had been showing partial symptoms of the flu. Gaurav is currently under treatment at Ludhiana.

40-year-old Harjit Singh, a resident of Gda Doab village in Abohar, who died on Friday, was admitted to the hospital as a suspected swine flu case but his blood sample report from the PGI, Chandigarh, made it clear that he was not suffering from swine flu.

Baljeet Singh, civil surgeon, Fazilka, also claimed that Harjit had not died due to swine flu rather due to some other disease.

Two days ago, his family had got him discharged from the hospital and had started treatment from a private doctor, claimed the civil surgeon.

The civil surgeon said the administration has made all the arrangements to deal with the swine flu and there was no need to panic.

Anyone having symptoms of swine flu should reach the hospital at the earliest, he said. In the meantime, eleven teams of the health department made a survey of various areas and examined the people.
