Three youths arrested for lifting vehicles

The police of Division No. 4 police have arrested three youths for lifting vehicles and recovered two motorcycles and a knife from their possession. The accused have been identified as Suresh Kumar, Sonu and Chintu. All accused are slum dwellers. One of the accused Vikram of the Civil City area is still at large.

Giving details, SHO Division No. 4 inspector Vinod Kumar claimed that the accused were arrested during a naka set up at New Deep Nagar on Saturday.

The accused were coming from Deep Nagar on two motorcycles when the police intercepted them and asked them to produce documents, but they failed to do so.

"When the police acted strictly, the accused confessed that they had stolen the motorcycles from different areas in the city and were trying to dispose them of," the SHO added.

"The accused are drug addicts and admitted that they lift vehicles to meet their need of drugs. Several cases of burglary have been registered against them," he added.
