A special ticket checking drive was conducted at Ludhiana railway station on Wednesday on the orders of senior divisional commercial manager (Sr DCM), Ferozepur Division.
A total Rs 1.75 lakh was recovered as fine from defaulters.
As many as 65 Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTE's) were deputed to check the persons travelling without ticket or having improper tickets.
The base for the checking was made at Ludhiana station. TTE's checked nearly 35 trains. During checking drive, TTE's visited up to Jalandhar, Khanna, Phagwara and Sirhind on rotation basis.
A total of 400 cases were made on people, who were found either travelling without tickets, or in higher class.
