Torn pages of Sikh and Hindu holy books found scattered in Ludhiana

Tension gripped in Chander Nagar and Hargobind Nagar area early this morning after people found torn pages of Sri Sukhmani Sahib and Gutka Sahib (Sikh holy books) and Hanuman Chalisa scattered in the areas.

Tension gripped in Chander Nagar and Hargobind Nagar area early Friday morning after people found torn pages of Sri Sukhmani Sahib and Gutka Sahib (Sikh holy books) and Hanuman Chalisa scattered in the areas.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and collected all the torn pages from the streets with the help of locals. The torn pages with be immersed in a canal near Katani Kalan. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area. The police have also held a meeting with religious leaders in this context.

Deputy commissioner of police (DCP, investigation) Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP, investigation) Balkar Singh along with other officials reached the spot. The police is scanning CCTVs to trace the accused.

The DCP said that area residents informed police at 8 AM when they noticed torn pages. The police initiated proceedings to register a case in this context.
