Traders demand action against contractors for dishing out bad roads

Members of the local traders association demanded action against the contractors for the alleged poor quality of roads constructed. The protestors said that far too many of the newly constructed roads were of poor quality and were damaged too quickly.

The traders have demanded a high-level probe against the contractors and the officials who gave quality clearance and made payments to the contractor.

A member of the Beopar Mandal Bharat Mahajan claimed that the road in the main bazaar has been washed away by the first spell of rain.

He demanded that the local MLA should start a probe against the contractor.

Another senior citizen Dr HR Khera has written to the DC and demanded better facilities. He has stated that if the DC has been designated a district, then the civil facilities must also be on a par with those available with other districts at least.

He through his letter has regretted the condition of the rehri market which contains heaps of garbage and stinking smell. He has alleged the no control of corporation on the stray dogs and animals which poses risks on the lives of the senior citizens, women and children.

He has claimed that many a time such problems are brought into the notice of administration but to no avail.
