Trashed by husband, a women suffers miscarriage

A woman suffered miscarriage after she was beaten up by her husband for dowry in Sahnewal area. In her complaint, the woman Raghbir Kaur, 23, a resident of Gulchaman Nagar alleged that she was married to Parminder Singh of Friends Colony of Sahnewal on November 8, 2013.

She further alleged that soon after marriage her husband had started harassing her for dowry. The accused thrashed her whenever she denied bringing dowry from her parents.

The victim alleged that meanwhile, she got pregnant, but her husband's attitude did not change. A few days ago her husband had thrashed her badly, and she turned unconscious, she alleged. She alleged that she was rushed to hospital, where she has suffered miscarriage.

Following her complaint, an FIR was lodged against her husband at Sahenwal police station in this context on Saturday.

Inspector Anil Bhanot, station house officer (SHO) at Sahnewal police station said, “After the investigation conducted by assistant commissioner of police (ACP), the police have registered a case under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 313 (causing miscarriage without woman's consent) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Parminder Singh, husband of the victim. The police have launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused.
