A travel agent has been booked for allegedly raping a 36-year-old married woman after sedating her at her house in Radi Mohalla.
The woman has alleged that the accused, Sukhpreet Singh, also made a lewd video of her and uploaded it online, following which her husband severed ties from her.
In her complaint, the woman submitted that her husband was living in Malaysia for the past one year and Sukhpreet Singh had facilitated his travel.
She alleged that a few days ago, Sukhpreet came to her house, while her children were away to school. He served her a soft drink that he had brought along, following which she fell unconscious.
When she regained consciousness, she was shocked to find herself naked in presence of Sukhpreet, who threatened her that he had made lewd video clips of her that he would post online if reported the matter to anyone.
She alleged that eventually she realised that Sukhpreet posted the videos after watching which her husband deserted her. She then approached the police with a complaint of rape.
Division Number 3 station house officer (SHO) Randhir Singh said a case under sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence) and 506 (criminal intimidation) had been registered and efforts were on to nab the accused. He said the police could add more sections in the FIR after tracing the lewd video made by the accused.
