Travel agents booked for sending man abroad using fake documents

The Shimlapuri police have booked two travel agents for allegedly duping a resident of Ajit Nagar of Rs 3.50 lakh and sending him abroad using fake documents.


The accused have been identified as Nitin Kumar and his brother, Suresh Mumar, both residents of Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh. The accused are at large.

The complainant, Krishan Kumar, alleged that the accused had taken Rs 3.50 lakh from him to send him to Singapore, and also assured him to provide a chef's job in a hotel there.

Kumar told the police, when he reached Singapore and met a hotel owner for job, as referred by the accused, the hotel owner found his immigration papers fake, following which he deported.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Lakhbir Singh said a case under sections 120B, 405, 407, 408, 471 and 420 of the IPC and Section 24 of the Immigration Act had been registered against the accused.
