The Nakodar Sadar police have charged a man and his son, both travel agents, with cheating and breach of trust. "Major Singh of Bhullar village complained to the Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police that he had given `15 lakh to Farris Masih of Budhannwal village near Shahkot and his son, Rogar Masih, for arranging the migration of his son, Harjit Singh, to New Zealand, but neither Harjit had been sent abroad nor the money and passport had been returned," said station house officer (SHO) concerned Rupinder Singh. Charges under the Indian Immigration Act were also added to the case.
