Turmoil in AAP due to Delhi leaders’ dominance: Dr Sidhu
After saying that state Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh is “not an alternative Punjab is looking for”, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu on Wednesday shifted her focus on the turmoil in the state unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
After saying that state Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh is “not the alternative Punjab is looking for”, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu on Wednesday shifted her focus on the turmoil in the state unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Stressing that “Punjabis can run Punjab”, Dr Sidhu, who represents Amritsar east constituency in the state assembly, said: “The unrest in AAP has happened because the party leadership has not given enough powers to the Punjab team. If volunteers have been working for the party in the state for the past three years, then why is the ticket allocation (for the assembly elections in 2017) being decided in New Delhi?”
Dr Sidhu said AAP should have formed a separate panel of Punjab leaders and given them all rights to run party affairs in the state. “The Delhi leaders are trying to force their decisions on the Punjab unit of the party, causing the problem,” she said. HTC
