Two arrested for allegedly raping a minor

The local police arrested two youths for allegedly raping a minor girl in Malerkotla on Monday. Senior superintendent of police, Harcharan Singh Bhullar said a case was registered against three youths, all in their 20s, on the complaint of the father of a 15-year-old girl.

The local police arrested two youths for allegedly raping a minor girl in Malerkotla on Monday.


Senior superintendent of police, Harcharan Singh Bhullar said a case was registered against three youths, all in their 20s, on the complaint of the father of a 15-year-old girl.

Bhullar said the father of the girl alleged in his complaint that his daughter was standing at a local bus stand waiting to board a bus to Dhuri to go to her aunt's house, when three car-borne youths gave a her lift and raped her repeatedly at an abandoned place.

The girl narrated the whole story to her mother following which police swung into action. The accused were identified as Shamshad Ali and Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Latif; the latter was still at large.

Bhullar said the police have started an investigation and the girl has been sent for medical examination.
