Two arrested with heroin worth Rs 40 lakh

CIA Staff-1 of police commissionerate, Ludhiana, recovered 85 gram heroin from two persons in two separate cases on Tuesday. The police claimed the cost of recovered heroine in the international market was around Rs 40 lakh.

In the first case, sub-inspector Harbhajan Singh established a check point at Focal Point following some information that he received, and recovered 75 gram heroine from a person's possession. The accused has been identified as Kuldeep Kumar of Hoshiarpur.

In the second case, the CIA staff nabbed Rakesh Kumar, a native of Uttar Pardesh, and recovered 10 gram heroine from his possession.

Two separate cases have been registered against the accused at police station, Focal Point under the NDPS Act. Inspector Rajan Parminder Singh, incharge at CIA staff, said the accused would be produced in court and after taking the police remand, the cops would interrogate them.

The incharge further added that both the accused had been involved in drug peddling for many years.
