Two Bathinda residents held for theft

City police arrested on Wednesday two thieves, who were booked in different cases in Ludhiana as well as Bathinda.

Salem Tabri police was able to zero in on these thieves on the information of an informer, and cops lead by inspector Keval Kishen nabbed them from the area.

The accused have been identified as Sunny Sharma and Parveen Kumar both residents of Bathinda, now living in a room at Basti Jodhewal area.

Police said both of them had been involved in theft for the past long time. An official statement by the police stated that they used to enter into the homes of residents in different areas and take away the goods from there.

The duo was involved in taking away LED televisions, utensils, gas cylinders and even motorbikes parked in front of the homes and shops.

Police have recovered a large number of items from their room and was questioning them to know about other theft cases. Both the accused have been sent on remand after they were presented in the court.

A case under sections 457 (house-breaking by night in order to commit offence), 380 (theft in a house) and 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the IPC.
